At Suffolk Downs Race Track, a severely aging structure which had been vacant for several years, the client wished to create a positive new image to present to the public who had renamed it “Suffering Downs.”  Research and selective demolition revealed an existing Art Deco structure hidden behind and beneath several subsequent additions.  The Clubhouse entrance was restored and a new Grandstand entrance in the spirit of the uncovered architecture was created.
